The perfect balance of strong, sour, herbal and sweet, our modern spin on the pre-prohibition classic The Last Word perfectly highlights Maker’s Mark’s smooth caramel and brown sugar notes.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 3/4 oz. Maker’s Mark Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whisky
  • 3/4 oz. Amaro Averna
  • 3/4 oz. Calimyrna Fig Syrup
  • 3/4 oz fresh lemon juice

Instructions

Prepare Calimyrna fig syrup.

Add all of the ingredients to a cocktail shaker

Shake for 20 seconds or until shaker is frosty on the outside

Double strain into a coupe glass and garnish with a fig and lemon twist

Serve

Calimyrna Fig Syrup
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 cup sun-dried Calimyrna figs, diced

Prepare the fig syrup by adding all of the ingredients to a small saucepan and bringing the mixture to a boil

Reduce heat to low and let simmer for 15 minutes
