Over 13 years ago a mother and son had a dream of changing the community while sharing their culinary gifts. Glenda and Donovan Barner, with the help of their family, worked continuous nights brainstorming delicious meals they could present to the public. Their business goal was to create the southern hospitality experience for everyone to enjoy in each meal. For years Sugars Place has made a name for themselves, being recognized by renowned chefs, social media icons, news stations, and Coach Prime of the Jackson State University Tigers.Their specialties include Fried Wings, Chicken and Waffle, Burgers, Fresh Salads, Hot Plate Specials ( Red Beans and Rice, Chicken Tetrazzini, Chopped Steak, Baked Chicken, and a plethora of delicious sides) and Fried Catfish and Shrimp. Stop by 168 E Griffith St, where all customers are given a hot meal and are always treated like family. Serving Breakfast 7:00am-10:50am and lunch from 11:00am-2:00pm.
