Ingredients
- 1.5 oz Makers Mark Bourbon
- 2 oz Passion Basil sour mix
- 3 drops of burlesque bitters
Instructions
Method: Add ingredients to a shaker. Shake 45 seconds. Clean pour into a chilled rocks glass. Add 3 drops of burlesque bitters
Passion Basil Sour Mix Recipe
- ¾ cup sugar
- 1 tbsp vanilla extract
- 1 tsp lemon zest
- 1 tsp orange zest
- 1 tbsp lavender
- 1½ cups water
- ¾ cup orange juice
- ½ cup lemon juice
- 4 passion fruits (wrinklier looking means it’s ready)
- 8 basil leaves
Method:Â Combine the sugar, vanilla, lavender, lemon and orange zest in a bowl. Massage ingredients together, until the sugar turns yellowish from the oils.
Place the flavored sugar in a saucepan on medium low. Add the water and citrus juices. Scoop out the passion fruit pulp, seeds and all and add it to the saucepan.
Bring the sour mix to a boil and stir occasionally (it may get a little stringy where the pulp attaches to the seeds). Once the sour mix comes to a boil remove from heat and add basil while it cools down. Do not overcook. Remove from the heat and allow to cool completely.
Garnish: Whiskey tumbler glass with frozen basil leaves and rose pedals, or you can garnish with Passion fruit half through a pick with an orange peel ribbon
Glassware:Â Whiskey tumbler glass
