About
Founded in 2007, Southern Girl Desserts is co-owned by Catarah Coleman and Shoneji Robison, who combined their family recipes to create a Southern cupcake and dessert arsenal. We pride ourselves on turning real ingredients into distinct and comforting ‘delectables.

The women pride themselves on their time-honored recipes, learned through many years of home-cooking. Most recipes are family-inspired, but plenty flavor combinations are dreamed up by the Dessert Divas themselves. Coleman and Robison received national recognition when they competed on and won Food Network’s “Cupcake Wars.” The women were bestowed with a $10,000 prize and the opportunity to cater the Chicago Toy and Game Fair, a black-tie gala. The women are also featured for their celebrity dessert catering on E! Network’s “L.A. Sugar, and recently introduced nationwide shipping.

Sweet Potato Cupcake - $4.25 each or $48 per dozen
Our yam puree is baked perfectly into the batter giving you sweet potato pie vibes in every bite.

Peach Cobbler Seasoning - $7 per individual serving or $48 per family size serving
Our cobbler has the perfect balance of seasoning and our flaky crust to peaches ratio will keep you coming back for more.

Warm Baked Cookies - Nibblers: $6/dozen Large: $5/two
Try our chocolate chip, pecan chocolate chip, oatmeal raisin, sweet potato, sugar, and peanut butter cookies.

Pound Cake Slices - $5 per slice or $60 for a 10-inch
Three daily flavors: butter, sweet potato, and lemon.

Coffee Cake - $5 per slice or $55 for a family size serving
The delicious crumble on top of a moist cake that reminds you of that old school LAUSD coffee cake is nostalgia in a cake.

German Chocolate Cake - $8 per slice (Available on Fridays)
Three layers of coconut, pecans, and our moist German chocolate cake.

Beverages & Drinks - $3 each
Peach lemonade, sweet tea, and our classic lemonade are made from scratch and are perfect compliments to our desserts.

If you are looking for the best bakery in South Central Los Angeles, Southern Girls Desserts is where you need to go. They have a variety of cookies, pies, cakes, cupcakes and cobblers that are the best tasting desserts your whole family will enjoy. Personally, you have not had anything close to the deliciousness of their Sweet Potato Pound Cake. Warm up a slice and you’ll go out of your mind. I give Southern Girls Desserts 10 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 for Excellent ++++++++++
