Mohagony- Star Anise Cherry Cocktail

A savory cocktail balanced with lemon and honey infused with star anise. It has a lingering finish carried by cherry herring and red wine vinegar.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1/2 oz lemon
  • 1/2 oz red wine vinegar
  • 3/4 Cherry Herring
  • 3/4 star anise honey
  • 1.5 oz Makers Mark

Instructions

Star Anise Infused Honey
  • 1:1 ratio with honey and hot water in a
  • 1 quart deli container.
  • 1 Cinnamon stick
  • 10 star anise
  • Zest of 1 whole orange

Cover and steep until cool

Garnish: Single ice cube and garnished with 2 unbleached maraschino cherries

Glassware: Double Old Fashioned Glass.
