The Cookout cocktail is a savory cocktail that captures the true essence of D.C summer. This Chocolate City cocktail lures your palate into a burst full of flavors with DC signature sauce, Mambo sauce, chocolate bitters, and the remarkable Markers Mark.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 oz. of Makers Mark
  • 2 oz of Fresh watermelon juice
  • ¾ oz of Fresh lime juice
  • ½ oz of Mambo Syrup (Capital City Spicy Mambo Sauce and Wildflower or Clover Honey)
  • 4 dashes of chocolate bitters
  • 1 bar spoon of vanilla extract
  • 3 Long Mint leaves

Instructions

First, add a tablespoon or bar spoon of vanilla extract into your strainer. Next, add 4 dashes of chocolate bitters. After that, add ½ oz of Mambo syrup and  ¾ oz lime juice Then, pour 2 oz. of Makers Mark and add ice. Once you have added ice, shake for 10-15 seconds. Strain the cocktail into your cut open watermelon or goblet glass. For your garnish, you are going to take your fresh mint, put it in the palm of your hand and smack it to express the aromas, and place it in your glass of choice. Finally, you are ready to drink.

Mambo Syrup
  • ¼ cup of Capital City Spicy Mambo Sauce
  • ½ cup of Wildflower or Clover Honey

Put those two ingredients in a pot. Set the burner on medium and let it cook for about 5 minutes. Then, stir the syrup until it has a watery texture. Once the syrup has reached a smooth watery texture, your syrup is ready. I recommend letting it cool for about 5-10 minutes.

Garnish: Fresh mint

Glassware: Mini Watermelon or Goblet glass
