“Our culture is badly underrepresented,” said Takela Corbitt of the North Hollywood neighborhood where her upscale Southern-style restaurant, Blaqhaus, is located. “I started looking for business opportunities to bring some of the things I enjoyed the most about our food and our culture and us gathering as people to my neighborhood.” ⁠
