Ice cream is one of America’s favorite desserts but did you know that ~75% of African-Americans are lactose intolerant and that around 32 million Americans have food allergies? To address this issue in our community and beyond, our team (including one of our owners – a black PhD scientist) has created a proprietary formula using oats and opened the World’s First Oat-Milk Soft Serve Shoppe in Manhattan, NYC. The shoppe is allergen-friendly and 100% vegan/plant- based and our smooth and creamy oat milk frozen dessert (free of dairy, eggs, nuts, tree nuts, gluten and soy) is something even dairy lovers can’t resist. By using oats, we have brought a game-changing product that is changing the way people think and feel about non-dairy ice cream. In addition, compared to other plant-based milks (i.e. almond milk, cashew milk etc.), oats are a sustainable, low input crop that has less of a carbon footprint.
