We traveled to this little spot from Suburban Philadelphia because we wanted to get a taste of their beautiful looking food. And support black restaurant week. We waited for an hour to receive the food but was disappointed that one of our orders was not written down. After we got the food it was discovered to be cold. The fried fish was good but the portion was small. Also I had the macaroni and cheese which was good, I ordered collard greens but they ran out and substituted cabbage which was really good. All the fish was tasty but was not a substantial amount for the price. To be fair the place was overwhelmed with orders, but I expected to be delighted after waiting an hour for my food, And to find that it was cold is not acceptable. But maybe in a couple of weeks or a couple of months I will try them again when things settle down.
Went there yesterday, waited an hour for food. Ordered a fish platter and food was cold, with 2 tiny pieces of fish. Very disappointing. But the Jerk chicken lasagna was hot and tasty. I think this establishment needs better management.
I called ahead and hour and still waited over an hour for my platters.. The food was tasty and good; but they need a better line team. There was no unity and a disfunction when filling orders. The portion vs price was no satisfactory either. But over all good flavors, worth the wait time, and I will try them again!
I also went on Restaurant Week. They were not prepared for the crowd. Since then I have eaten (ordered out) from this place two more times. The food was delicious. The Jerk Lasagna is excellent. On the weekends you can order Rasta Pasta. Had an order of shrimp and an order of chicken Rasta Pasta. They both had a lot of shrimp and chicken in them plus the orders were HUGE. The shrimp were also large shrimp. This is definitely a place worth checking out. Next I will try the curry chicken platter. Their sides are also very good. The cabbage is the best cabbage I every had. That’s saying a lot. The mac and cheese is very good.
